I have been in the cardboard and packaging industry for nearly forty years. I have seen trends come and go, watched technology transform supply chains, and witnessed the rise of online retail change the way people think about boxes and home removals altogether. The one consistent? The quality of a cardboard box is rarely a small decision.

 

My grandfather started this company back in the 1950s for many reasons, yet most of all he believed hard working people deserve packaging they can genuinely rely on. Not a gamble, not a compromise, but a product that does exactly what it says on the tin (or cardboard).

 

When I look back at the early days of W.E. Roberts, I remember my father speaking with a customer who had used a competitor's boxes for their move. Three boxes had collapsed in the mover's van. Her kitchen items were destroyed - most notably her grandmother's generational china plates plates broken. She was in tears. That conversation has never left me. It is the reason we set the standards we did from day one, and the reason we have never cut corners on the cardboard we use. The moving box is the unsung hero or the cursed-upon villan of every house move, and it is very important to us that we are not supplying the latter.

A box that fails costs you far more than the price of a good one. Broken items, damaged furniture, stress on moving day, the time spent dealing with what went wrong. The real cost of a poor box is invisible until it is too late.
